By combining substantial funding increases, forward‑thinking legislation, and a focus on community well‑being, I have consistently delivered results. If trusted with another term, I am committed to deepening these efforts in Seattle and across our entire state.

Housing

I believe that stable, affordable housing is essential for healthy communities. I led efforts to provide $770 million in new funding for housing projects. This includes $25 million for affordable housing and community projects in the 43rd district. As tenant issues dramatically affect many constituents, I helped pass rent stabilization; expand prohibited rental provisions; and enact laws aimed at streamlining housing construction and preventing homelessness. I remain dedicated to policies that increase housing access and affordability while protecting tenants.

Climate

I continue working hard to combat climate change. With extreme heat and wildfire threats, I supported legislation to cut emissions, reinforce carbon-reduction programs, and accelerate clean energy development. I worked to defend the Climate Commitment Act, a landmark policy targeting a 95% emissions reduction by 2050. If returned to the legislature, I am committed to leading Washington State into a green future.

Public Safety

I am determined to make Washington safer for everyone. I was the prime sponsor of legislation requiring reasonable controls on dangerous individuals acquiring guns. I also introduced and passed legislation to simplify the voluntary surrender of guns during mental health crises. I was a co-sponsor of successful bills enacting a stricter permitting process, an assault weapons ban, and a $100 million investment in new law enforcement staffing across Washington. Through these and other initiatives, I am working to ensure that every community and household feel secure.
